Yolanda Bivins serves as the Director of Clinical Experiences at Nashville Teacher Residency, where she oversees the clinical development and support of NTR Candidates. In this role, Yolanda leads NTR’s work with Mentor Teachers, coaching, and classroom observations, ensuring Candidates receive the high-quality feedback, guidance, and school-based support needed to grow into effective educators.
Yolanda joined NTR in 2019 and has played an integral role in strengthening the organization’s approach to candidate development and clinical practice. Throughout her time at NTR, she has led the design and implementation of Mentor Teacher programming, coaching systems, and Lead Teaching experiences.
Prior to joining NTR, Yolanda worked for Houston Independent School District, where she served as a Teacher Development Specialist supporting historically low-performing Title I schools. She brings more than 22 years of experience in education, having taught and supported students from first grade through the college level at Lone Star College.
Yolanda holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Prairie View A&M University and a Master’s Degree in Education in School Counseling from Lipscomb University.
